Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are considered as one of the largest transport disrupters of this decade, predicted to lead to an inevitable establishment of a new norm in the automotive industry. Globally, industry adopters and OEMs are engaging in active testing of AVs on public roads to gain experience and obtain maturity in their pursuit of Level 4 autonomy, a development stage consisting of shared mobility solutions such as smart navigation and remote parking. However, developing AV technologies into reality remains as one of the biggest challenges in the race to automotive revolution, cementing the importance for countries and companies to continuously collaborate and share their solutions to the challenges encountered.
Jointly presented by Geoworks and Rotorcraft Asia and Unmanned Systems Asia 2021, this session aims to discuss the challenges of AV development in terms of its deployment and its commercial viability within the evolving transport industry in Singapore and in the wider Asia market.
